Strategies

The conclusion of the 15th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity saw the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).

The GBF promotes coherence, complementarity and cooperation between the Convention on Biological Diversity and its Protocols, other biodiversity related conventions, and other relevant multilateral agreements and international institutions, respecting their mandates, and creates opportunities for cooperation and partnerships among diverse actors to enhance implementation of the Framework.

In adopting the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, all Parties committed to setting national targets to implement it. Given the broad range of issues addressed in the GBF it is inevitable that actions to achieve the goals and targets will also be relevant to the interest of other MEAs. Therefore, cooperation and collaboration when developing national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) is key so that appropriate activities relating to all relevant MEAs can be considered and included as appropriate.

This section of the DaRT provides a visualization of the cross-mapping among strategies to help identify opportunities for mutually supportive implementation.
