بحلول عام 2020 على أقصى تقدير، يجب أن تكون قيم التنوع البيولوجي قد أُدرجت في الاستراتيجيات الوطنية والمحلية للتنمية والحد من الفقر وعمليات التخطيط ويجري إدماجها، حسب الاقتضاء، في نظم المحاسبة الوطنية ونظم الإبلاغ.

بحلول عام 2020، إتمام تعزيز قدرة النظم الإيكولوجية على التحمل ومساهمة التنوع البيولوجي في مخزون الكربون، من خلال الحفظ والاستعادة، بما في ذلك استعادة 15 في المئة على الأقل من النظم الإيكولوجية المتدهورة، مما يسهم بالتالي في التخفيف من تغير المناخ والتكيف معه ومكافحة التصحر.

بحلول عام 2015، يكون كل طرف قد أعد واعتمد كأداة من أدوات السياسة، وبدأ في تنفيذ، استراتيجية وخطة عمل وطنية للتنوع البيولوجي بحيث تكون فعالة وتشاركية ومحدثة.

Wetland benefits are featured in national/local policy strategies and plans relating to key sectors such as water, energy, mining, agriculture, tourism, urban development, infrastructure, industry, forestry, aquaculture, fisheries at the national and local level.
